After viewing "A Vision of Students Today" comment below on how you feel about learning styles.  Does 21st century learners change the conversation?  How do digital learners change how we plan, teach and assess?

How do feel about "Learning Styles of the Net Generation"?  Is this specific to the Net Generation or is this considered good teaching?  Can you connect with either of these videos?  How will you connect with digital learners?

Look at this Howard himself making a comment, "Big Thinkers Howard Gardner on Digital Youth."

After viewing the video "A Vision of Students Today" it reminded me a lot of my undergraduate experience at a very large university. I had numerous classes that had well over 200 students in them and some classes were taught by a graduate assistant not even the assigned professor. Beyond this, a number of my courses had pre-made PowerPoint presentations that we would download and you could realistically not attend class at all during the semester except for exam times. Educators today need to embrace technology and use it in the classroom so that students are not just checking facebook on their laptops during class. If todays educators utilized all of these great resources I feel that students would be much more prepared post graduation.

A Vision of Students Today showed a rather shallow view of students and learning. Thank goodness there are many students are studying liberal arts and reading books, whether the books are on nook or paper. Sure computers are a wonderful tool but caution is needed. One still needs to learn the tools of learning and develop a well-trained mind.

After viewing Howard Gardner's piece on Digital Youth the main thought that stuck out for me was the idea of teachers becoming more of a coach/role model. Information about pretty much anything is at everyones finger tips with the internet so teachers in the future as Gardner says will tend to lead students in the right direction.

The video "A Vision of Students Today" had a very powerful message. That was exactly how I felt when I was in college. I went to a large undergraduate college with lecture halls with hundreds of other students for some general education courses. I felt like just another face in the crowd.

Howard Gardener's piece was interesting to me in the sense that he thinks teachers will start to serve more as coaches and role models rather than didactic instructors. Instead of giving them all the information they need we will be showing them and guiding them in how and where to find the information for themselves...since there is such an infinite amount of information and knowledge at our fingertips.

"A Vision of Today" is striking in the sense that it concisely gives us a physical look into how digital a student's world is today -- Truly infinite and expanding.

I have to say that the youtube regarding "A Vision of Students Today" seems to be an accurate view of the way in which higher education is turning. Coming from a large university for my undegraduate work I experienced many of the things what were illustrated in the video. Many students are constantly multi-tasking in and outside of class with cellphones, computers and other devices. I personally have experienced purchasing a book that was almost never opened, the large classrooms and the instructors who never learned my name.

After viewing the video "A Vision of Students Today" it has helped me really understand how there are many different learning styles and how important it is to incorporate all of these learning styles in everyday life. I loved the way the video was shot by incorporating many different aspects of technology and explaining why it is important for students to have a voice in the classroom. The video really makes an impact and gets it point across. I felt that it really makes you think about the resources that are available and how you can incorporate them into any grade or classroom. I can connect with what they were saying about spending money on books, a laptop and also sitting through lectures. I like the classes where I can interact with other classmates. I feel that it really helps to make the information stick and the process that got you to understand the information was enjoyable.
