Did anyone read "A Superior Education for Connecticut's 21st Century Learners" (http://www.sde.ct.gov/sde/lib/sde/pdf/commish/comp_plan06-11.pdf). It is Dr. Grossman's class all over again! It starts off with "...the Board selected these three priority areas toaddress the unacceptable achievement gaps that continue to widen in reading and mathematics among students who differ in gender, race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status." We have had so many discussions on this exact issue.
Hi Liz, No, I have not read that....But I have started: Empowering Students with Tech.I love the critical thinking boxes!
Hi Liz,I agree the information presented in the article sounds very much like the topics discussed in our first class. I think the part that stuck with me the most is when the state acknowledges not only the continuing achievement gap in student scores, but also in the expectations that are held for students in the different socioeconomic groups.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
